 TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST I & II

TET


The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has become a mandatory requirement for being posted as Teachers in government and Government-aided schools. It is conducted in two stages: TET Paper I and TET Paper II. The candidates with Teacher training (D.T.Ed) are eligible to appear for TET I, and candidates with an Undergraduate science or arts degree with B.Ed are eligible to appear for TET II. Candidates with B.Ed but no D.T.Ed are not eligible to apply for  TET Paper I.

Tamil Nadu state Government has issued a notification for TET  Paper I and TET Paper II through the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB). The last date to apply is September 8,2025. 

Exam date for TET Paper I - 15.11.2025 (Saturday)

Exam date for TET Paper II - 16.11.2025 (Sunday)


TET Paper I (For Classes I-V)

Child Development and Pedagogy                          - 30

Language -I (Tamil/Telugu/Kannada/Urdu)          - 30

Language-II (English compulsory)                          - 30

Mathematics                                                               - 30

Environmental studies                                               - 30

The total marks for the TET paper I is 150 marks, and the classification of marks is mentioned above. The question will be MCQ (multiple choice questions) and 30 questions in each section. Each question carries one mark.

                                                    TET Paper II (For Classes VI-VII)

Child Development and Pedagogy                          - 30

Language -I (Tamil/Telugu/Kannada/Urdu)          - 30

Language-II (English compulsory)                          - 30

Mathematics and Science                                          - 60

or

Social science                                                               - 60

The total marks for the TET paper II are 150 marks, and the classification of marks is mentioned above. The question will be MCQ (multiple choice questions) and 30 questions in each section. Each question carries one mark. Mathematics and science graduates can opt for mathematics and science, and the history, geography, and economics graduates can opt for social science.
